While we humans take in many senses to observe the world around us, a dog experiences the world nose first.  Your K9 has between 125 and 300 MILLION scent receptors in it's nose.  In comparison, a human has a paltry 5 million.  As good as those cookies smell to you, amplify it by 40 times and imagine how good it smells to your dog - irresistible!  (The next time he tries to steal one off the counter, you'll understand why).

Spending the last few years as a dog handler has provided me with a very unique skill set when it comes to dog training.  My amazing dog Georgia and I have spent thousands of hours conducting bed bug inspections across the tri-state area, utilizing Georgia's propensity to sniff, as a hound dog, and dog in general.  We get certified by NESDCA yearly and we never stop learning our craft.   At the same time, Georgia's sense of smell never ceases to amaze me.

Working with Georgia has also enabled me to learn that art of scent detection.  Now I want to share how anyone can enjoy it with their own "super sniffer."

We start by just having your dog search for what it loves best.  Food!  In time we can have the dog search for just about anything.  But don't worry, I won't be bringing any bed bugs!

Many types of dogs can do nose work.  To them, it becomes a fun game, a new challenge, or a way to spend time with you.  Ready to try it out?
